I am truly sad to hear this story. I have worked with and have gay friends. None of them had ever made me feel uncomfortable around them. I think Larry's dressing and wanting to make people uncomfortable, was a cry for help. Putting himself at the front of riducule also shows his needs. I believe that Larry should have gotten counseling (the school and his family should have seen to this). Did Larry's family not see how he was dressed for school each day and know that his grades were dropping? As Larry has his rights, the other children have rights as well. I feel badly for Brandon who was victimized himself for having to deal with the pressure of a gay boy liking him, and the other students teasing him about it. He obviously was troubled as his grades were dropping as well.It sounds like the school staff was fully aware of this entire situation. Shame on them for not finding help for both students. As Larry was troubled, so too was Brandon. May God bless both of them.

I am so sorry for the terrible loss of your son. My heart is just broken for you. As the poem says, Larry is alive- with God and at peace. Thank you for sharing the beautiful pictures with us. God bless you.

hateful,small-minded adults raise hateful,small-minded kids. i bet all the kids who were laughing and making crude comments dont think its so funny now. what are we to do? will people ever learn? im sorry for the family loss. the only good thing that came out of this so far is the heart that keeps that little girl alive. good decision. best wishes for your emotional recovery...

i read the article about larry at msn..i thought maybe its larrys fate to be with GOd so early at his age..everyone of us has contribution for the transformation and change of the lives of larry and brandon if the cure is done early, but that tragic event is done and we'll never return back time..i hope the king family can move on and GoD gives you the strength to be waken up at this situation.

it saddens me so much to know that the ppl in this world would kill an innocent child for a reason that we can not control. we as "gay or lesbian" ppl are born this way. we can not change who we are. this world needs to change. move foward. in the end we are all the same. we all bleed red blood. we all cry. we all suffer sometimes. we are all brought into this world the same way. i only hope and pray that one day this type of violence will stop. we must start to teach our kids from home from when they are little that everyone is the same. equal rights for all. i'm so sorry.

I think the whole situation is rediculous. I'm not gay but have many friends who are. People should be able to be themselve without retribution. the schools should come up with new plans. We are entering a new era of diversity and people should respect that

im really sorry to know that things like this can happen in our world, and as i was reaing the stry my heart was felling sad just by knowing that larry still had a lot to live, and his life was taken just for his sexuallity, is horrible how things like this can happen, and i hope that someday our GOD will take all this violence, and hate away, im sure larry was a great person, and by looking at the slideshow of his pictures i saw a kid full of joy and life that had a lot to give, learn, and i just know that now he is at a better place, and wherever he is, he is happy knowing that he will never be forgotten by those who love him , and that his story will touch thousands of hearts!
