A gorgeous boy who has touched the lives of many across the world. He lives on in many ways. My sympathies to the family and friends of Larry.

We must change the message especially for our youth to let them know that it is OK to be Gay! Mark is so loved - and Love never dies .... it expands to fill the whole of Creation. Let us continue that Love forever!

I'm writing this as a mother. and as I think of the King family losing their deeply precious and beautiful child, I can't stop crying. And as I think of the terrible hatred and violence that took Larry's life, I am so afraid for all of our children and what lies ahead for them. I worry not only for the victims of this terrible hatred, but for the perpetrators as well. Parents NEED to do more to instill respect and tolerance as core family values. No matter our creed, income, color or political stripe, these values need to be as basic to a child's upbringing as ABC's and 123's. God, please help us in this endeavor. Thank you.

The pictures of him when he was little - he looks a lot like my son, who is 4. This just breaks my heart to think that someone's beautiful boy was taken from them because of ignorance and fear. I wish I knew how to protect my own son, and everyone else's child, from this kind of hatred.

I am so terribly sorry for htis crime. Prejudice and hate in this nation is something that needs to be addressed, as our current system creates fear and paranoia regarding sexuality. If someone is comfortable with their own sexuality, they should not feel offended, threatened, worried, or upset about anything that is different. And if no one felt these worries, there would be less hate. And that's exactly what everyone wants, less hate, isnt it? So why are having so much trouble and taking so long in finding a solution?

Dear Larry, I could have been you. I was young, picked on, and gay. But I was afraid. You are my angel, my hero and my role model. As a teacher, my life will never be the same since the day of your death. Never again. Sleep well my angel.

My heart is broken to learn of such a horrific and senseless tragedy. It's almost to the point that I am ashamed to live in a nation that fosters such hate and violence. I am a father of three and cannot even begin to fathom the pain that comes from losing a child in any manner, let alone one as gut-wrenchingly sick as this. My prayers are with the family of young Lawrence. May his brief life serve as a lesson to ALL that EVERYONE is precious and priceless. NO ONE deserves to have violence perpetrated upon them. Diversity is to be embraced, not hated or feared. To Lawrence's family, God bless you. I am sincerely and tearfully sorry for your loss. You are loved and thought about.

Let Larry's undying courage and spirit inspire us ALL to be ourselves and live life in the way we so desire. My heart is broken hearing his story. I only hope that parents and schools all over the world take this as a warning that things need to change, tolerance and acceptance need to be taught from kindergarten, and parents, teachers and administrators need to be more readily available to talk to students and recognise warning signs. In rememberance of Larry and all who've left this Earth far too early, only the GOOD die young.
