It's unfortunate that only a tragedy like this causes action from the general public. My prayers go out to Larry's family and all the other young people going through similar situations.

While we all grieve, most of all your family and friends who were blessed to have known you, Heaven must be a brighter place with you there, Larry, an Angel among angels. And the world--we must hope--will be better for the extraordinary strength his parents have shown in the face this terrible, terrible loss. Bless the entire King family.

There is so much senseless killing in the world today, it breaks my heart to see that so many of us still have not learned that violence doesn't solve anything. My thoughts and prayers are with all of Larry's loved ones and I hope you can find peace.

To All affected by Larry King, I hurt in my heart for this.I am Transgendered and came out in 1997 at the age of 47. Larry, came for a reason, he was a "way-paver." Like all of those who went before him he gives strength to those of us who followed. Mahalo nui loa, Ahui hou, Larry

Gone But Not Forgotten When a dearest loved one Passes away Our thoughts are filled with them Each and every day. Hardly a single moment Passes by That our hearts aren''t heavy And we want to cry. Everywhere we look A reminder is there Causing some old memory To quickly stir. At night when we close our eyes And yearn for blessed sleep We awaken with churning thoughts Of old memories once buried deep. We never get over The loss of our dear friend They''ll always be with us Until our own very end. I’m so sorry, I’m so sorry, We repeat again-and-again As we recall the moments We might have caused them pain. No, we never get over it It would be futile to even try But the hurt begins to lessen As time passes following our goodbye. Time lessens and heals our pain While our life continues on Through knowing our dear loved one Is in a safe and peaceful home Where no suffering exists. They are in God’s hands. © 2007 Jeanette Cooper

This is the saddest news I have read this week. It is really a loss for all of us. It is amazing when someone so young can be comfortable in his own skin and be himself without confusion. He had the potential to be such a great example for us all.

my deepest sincerest sympathies to the family and friends of Larry. What a tragedy. I am very proud of Larry for standing up for what he believed in. He is an American Idol and his death will only be in vain if we as humans allow it to be. We need to recognize that Larry paid the ultimate price for gays and lesbians all over the world to become more free. We need to now act upon this tragedy and go to local school board meetings and ask what is our schools doing to teach our children tolerance. This is unacceptable not to mention a kid having a gun at school. I will not let Larry's death be in vain. I be an extension of him and stand up for him and his legacy. My thoughts and prayer to all gay and lesbian children through the world. Don't let this tragedy discourage you but let it motivate you to make change......for Larry.

I'm horrified that something like this could happen. My condolences to the families of both Larry, and the shooter. I hope time and support will help ease the pain. I also hope young children will be better educated about homosexuality. I myself was ignorant and intolerant of it until high school when I met great people, who just happened to be gay.
