I'd like to express my condolences to the King family and to everyone who considered Larry to be among their loved ones. At a time like this, it is impossible to make any sense of this kind of tragedy.
As I watched the beautiful slide show of him, I saw a lot of myself in Larry, and am moved by his strength, his courage and his presence.
On Good Friday, I will be sharing a little about Larry in a worship service at the Unitarian Universalist church of Long Beach. The service is entitled "The Darkness Before the Dawn," a tenebrae service in the traditional format, where we will be focusing on modern-day executions of people who have been killed for because of who they are or what they believe.
I hate that I even have to share Larry's story. He should be with us now, continuing to spread his light.
