My condolences to the King family, and my heart goes out to young Larry King. Maybe awareness of the murder of such a courageous free-spirited youth - who had the right to live, love and freely be himself - will humanize the struggle of others like him. Be strong family. This is tragic, but I believe that Larry lived, will give life to others, and that he would be pleased by that. Sincerely, Cleo Manago

It's been 3 weeks since I first heard about this tragic event yet thinking about this young life lost still brings me to tears. I've cried so many times learning about Lawrence, one of the gentlest souls around. Young Mr King had the courage to be himself despite all of the judgement and hate. The sensitivity to care about others and a curiousity for life that we should never lose. For being who you were and dressing how you did let me say I'm proud of you. I have been out for 12 years but still remember the early days. The joy of accepting our true selves cause us to not only open the closet doors, but sometimes kick those doors right off. Lawrence, you had more courage then so many much older. This should have never happened and I promise you I will never forget. I hope that their is something done in your honor every year and I look forward to travelling down from Canada to join in the celebration of your life. I'm glad you had a chance to start being you!

This is very upsetting and disturbing to hear. Being 15, I hear a lot of hateful statements to other students just for race, religion, and sexuality. It is sad that to raise awareness to this hate we have to lose another person who was just being themself. R.I.P. Lawrence.

i am very sorry for your loss. my heart and prayers go out to larrys family and friends. it makes me so so mad that we live in a world that does not accept us for who we are no matter what and to know that someone would take the life of an innocent boy just for being who he is. i started crying when i saw the slideshow again i am very sorry for your loss

Larry, we all miss you and love you. It shocked the nation to hear of your death, and it scared me half to death that someone would do such a nasty thing to another human. I am bisexual, and Larry,i love you, with a full heart, and truly wish the best for your family.
