This has been running in the daily email bulleting of Las Lomas High School in Walnut Creek, CA this week:
Support the Gay-Straight Alliance in raising money to donate to the Lawrence King Memorial Fund. Lawrence was a 15-year-old who was killed at his school in So. California for his sexual orientation and gender expression. Pick up a flyer in the Main Office, buy something at the Downtown Jamba Juice on Friday and receive 20% off your purchase. That money will then be donated to the memorial fund.

What a gentle face! Taken away from the world much too soon. We must speak out against violence . It is time for NIMBY to come alive again NOT IN MY BACK YARD.

My thoughts and prayers are with u, Larry and family. This is an outrage in this day and age. I pray for the world that we all are safe and tolerant. I'm gay 34 and I am here daily trying to make a differance. May God look after us all. Live, love, learn. Fare thee well on whatever journey u are on.

Hello,
Im am so sorry for you loss...
I didn't actually here about this until now and am saddened I did not.
I don't get to watch much tv and i am in college so i didn''t have time to look.
I will never understand your lose but i do understand your pain. I have had many close friends experience hate and pain from people.
Being transgendered myself I understand what it is to walk the life as another person and to hope that noone can tell the difference.
It bothers me the we live in a country that can not protect people from this. Maybe, even though your lose, this will open some peoples eyes. That noone is protected.
I hope you realize that life will go on and things get better. Maybe you can be the beginning of something much bigger than you, me or even Larry.
With Deepest Sorrows, Compassion and Care,

To the King family, may GOD continue to bless you and watch over you during these tough times. Larry seems to have been a beautiful spirit. I'm sure he is watching over us and through everyone spreading the message to ERASE HATE...I will continue to pray that this never happens again.

Wow what a very sad and touching story. My thoughts are with the family. He looked like a very loved and happy kid, sorry his life had to end so soon, and in such a harsh way.
I believe that schools need to work harder on anti-bullying.
My thoughts are with the family.

I can't believe a tragedy like this could happen in our school, muchless in our junior high school. I dont think any words can describe the loss. Its situations like this that makes one realize how fragile we are.
