Larry's tragic, untimely and hate motivated death just breaks my heart but mostly it is meant to break the spirit of the LGBT community - WE MUST NOT LET IT. The hate filled child that committed this unthinkable act was TAUGHT his hatred & his fear was fed by a homophobic society. The only way to make Larry's loss mean something is to NOT let that hate & fear divide our community. Let us instead use this dispicable act as inspiration to unite us in our purpose to overcome such hate and to renew our commitment to educate our fellow human beings in the values of tolerance, compassion and acceptance of each others differences. The BEST we can do is to maybe, in some small way, give his death meaning. King Family - your loss is tremendous & unfathomable & I'm so sorry that he was taken from you by hatred & intolerance. Just know that so many people are praying for all of you. May God Bless & Comfort You all during your time of mourning & may Larry soar with the angels always.

I just found out about the story of Larry. Its a terrible tragedy that his life was stolen from him, and his grieving family and all his friends must live with the incredible loss. All over America, and the world, our hearts are bleeding with you. I didn't know Larry or his family, but I sit here, on the opposite side of the country, with tears streaming off my face. My deepest condolences to everyone who is effected by what happened to young Larry Forbes. May his soul forever surround those he knew and loved, and those who loved him, even those who hold Larry in their heart and have never had the chance to meet him. We must encourage diversity in our schools and communities and share a message of love and acceptance to all those who differ from us. Larry is a beautiful boy who's spirit will live on forever. <3

When I read Larry's story I could only cry. In this day and age you would think people would put their time and energy to good use and not violence. We have enough of that and people should not be hating others because of race, gender, sexual orientation or anything else. Take the hate and turn it to love, it'll make you feel better.

I can't imagine what you all must be going through, but I hope it provides you some comfort that so many of us across the world are thinking of you. It's obvious that you truly loved and were proud of your son and if all parents raised their children with the same love an compassion, these tragedies would not occur.

I didnt know this young man but i want to give my deepest sympathy to his family. I want to say that WHY do people feel like they can do anything to anybody. He couldnt help that he was attracted to guys he was just being himself, and i believe that the the person/people that did this ned to suffer just like they are making his family suffer right know they took away someones son, brother, grandson, and friend and he cant come back but to those that knes him all so well remeber he is livinf FABOLOUS in heaven with GOD and watching all of u.

As someone with many GLBT friends of all ages, sexes, and genders, this story really hit me hard. I wish all of you goodwill in the coming months, and thank you for putting this story out there and raising awareness. It really means a lot.
