While I am very sadden by the tragedy done to Lawrence King, I can't help but be more sadden, hurt and angry at the lack of attention for other incidences like death of Simmie Williams Jr, the 17-year-old black gay teenager who was gunned down by two unknown men, because he was wearing a dress at the time. The case becomes more tragic as news surfaces that five years ago, another young black gay man wearing a dress was shot on the same stretch of road—and he was the son of a family friend. But these stories and many others are NOT getting the attention it deserves. Where are the entertainers, etc. for these kids? I believe they matter just as much.

Today is the first I heard about this story and it sickens and saddens me that this poor boy had to endure such pain because this other boy was raised under a rock and doesnt accept anyone who is different from himself. my thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of Larry. He is in a better place where he cant be hurt anymore, he is in the hands of our lord. May he never be forgotten and let this be the reason we Americans change the way we live our lives. Rest In Peace Larry. You'll soul will forever live on.

I cannot believe this happened to this child. My God why did something like this have to happen. Nobody should have to die because of their lifestyle or who they may be, especially an innocent child. Lord take that child into your arms and never let go and touch his family to let them know he is okay and bless that family beyond their dreams, for this is so wrong and you above, why did you let it happen? This breaks my heart in so many ways. I hope Lord that you had a good reason if any for allowing such a thing.

My heart hurts thinking about Laurence and all the others living with and dying from this kind of hate. I grew up Gay in Santa Barbara. I see Laurence's face and see my own. I will never forget him.

This story deeply saddens me, and my sympathy goes out to all of those who knew Larry. I hope that some day we might live in a world in which it is okay for someone to express their sexuality and not be victimized for it. Hopefully this doesn't have to happen anymore in the future.

MY PRAYER ARE WITH YOU. HIS POEM IS SO BEAUTIFUL AND SHOWS HIS PARENTS RAISED HIM WITH FAITH. I REALLY DON'T KNOW WHAT ELSE TO SAY BUT BE STRONGE AND HE WILL ALWAYS BE AROUND YOU. MY SELF BEING A PARENT WOULDN'T KNOW HOW TO DEAL WITH THIS. I DID HAVE TO BURY MY CHILDRENS FATHER AT A YOUNG AGE. WHILE BEING PREGANT WITH OUR SON. I WILL PRAY FOR LARRY AND HIS FAMILY AS WELL. MY GOD GUIDE AND GIVE YOU THE STRENGTH TO COPE WITH YOUR LOSE.
