My heart goes out to everyone involved. It is hard to accept that such a horrible thing has happened due to someone being different. it descusts me. It shouldn't matter if Larry was gay or not, he seemed to be an amazing person that made a strong impact on the people around him. I believe Larry is in heaven now, and hopefully after this tragic event- people around the united states and the entire world will be able to view EVERYONE differently. People need to understand that we were all created, the way we are, for a reason, and everyone ought to be loved and appreciated for being themselves. I pray for the king family and everyone else involved. <3

To Larry's Family: My father passed away last Thanksgiving so I know grief of a loved one. However, I do not know grief of a child. I wish you peace and fond memories going forward. I am not gay, but have been an advocate of gay rights for years and work everyday in my career to help create a workplace and society that is open and accepting of people. While I do not identify as gay, I know what it feels like to be bullied for being different. May Larry's life not be in vain and may at least one person hear this story or hear someone refer to this experience and be changed. Ellen and People magazine did a great thing by bringing this to the public. Hopefully, there can be change by all of us doing something to help remove hate. Rest in Peace, Larry.

I am so so sorry for your loss. Lawrence was just being himself and was killed for it. All we as gay people can do is be our selves, its who we are not a choice. I will keep Lawrence in my memory and spread the word about what happened to him. He will not be forgotten. Rest in peace little one and thank you for having the courage to be you.

I was deeply saddened to hear about this. Hate crimes should not be tolerated. I'm disgusted with the human race. I'm very sorry for your loss.

Please accept my deepest sympathies for your tragic loss. I can tell by the photo gallery that Larry knew he was loved by his family and by God, his creator. My heart breaks that such a precious life was taken before he even had a chance to show the world exactly what he was meant to be. Hold your memories of Larry close to your heart, share his story with all who will listen, and know that there are many people who are praying that you are comforted in this time of sorrow. As the mother of an openly gay son (age 21), I pray daily that he is protected from those who hate and would want to cause him harm. My son has traveled the country with a social justice organization to stop colleges from discriminating against openly gay students. May Larry's life and his death reflect that is NEVER o.k. to hurt someone based on who that person loves. Again, my heart is with you as you grieve, may God grant you peace. What a beautiful child you have, may his spirit live on forever. God Bless.

To the family and friends of this young man, my heart goes out to you. Being the mother of a child who is also "different" (autism), this strikes too close to home. To know that kids will kill kids for being DIFFERENT. I am so sad for your loss, and so fearful of what this world is becoming.

My heart weeps. I wonder of Larry's joys and his griefs. They are all over now and the future will be here with out him. The promise that God blessed us all with in that child is gone. Gone because someone was taught to hate and told a lie i.e. it was right to murder. Remember the commandments; God is not mocked. Do not be deceived. What size of earthquake or hurricaine would it take for the Creator's justice on this matter to be quenched? There'd be no Earth left. God's heart weeps and God's rage is insurmountable. God's Creation deserves love and respect. Larry had that love and respect, and someone took it from him. To those who loved Larry, peace; and embrace Larry's memory, hard, and embrace your loss and pain for they are the signs of love and opportunity lost. They are all that are left. But they are the things that, when worked through, bring healing. May the Creator's light come shining through SOMEHOW to you all. Know that this was NOT the Creator's plan or work.

I was deeply touched by this story as a gay man who is appalled by such hate. Larry's story has motivated me to hold a candlelight vigil in his honor to speak out about hate crimes as well as an interfaith prayer session. This is to you, Larry.
