I am now 60 years old, I was also a young gay american (years old) and remember the treatment back then, I had hoped we had grown so far above this, let us all make Larry's death the last death due to intoerance. Rest in Peace.

I being gay myself have been saddened by such news of hatred still in this world. We seem to forget that we're not gay but humans. My sexual prefference doesn't make me who I am. I have a family of my own and I have been worried about letting the world know me, because of the hatred still out there. I don't want the kids to become a target of this kind of hatred. I now feel we must make it known to the world that we're all just humans and we have the rights. What I do behind my doors is none of anyones business. My heart goes out to all those fallen victem to hatred. Sorry it had to come to someone dying to bring this out of me. God Bless

I never knew Larry and didn't hear of his loss until moments ago but my heart is saddened and broken at the complete failure of humanity in protecting our innocents. I am a Muslim woman from a conservative family where sexuality is an issue most frequently, but I would never support killing a beautiful innocent sould like Larry's. May Allah embrace you and give you justice in after life.

I am so sorry that Larry was a victim of such hate & evil. Unfortunately racism still exists. My husband & I are interracial (he is black & I am white Jewish) & our home was sat & burned in 1998 cause we are interracial & 4 family members died un the fire. We know the evil of racism. You do not have to be black to encounter racism. I am so sorry that you all have lost such a courageous loved one. May YAH bless & comfort each of you ! You are in my thoughts & prayers.

I didn't hear about Larry's story on the news, I heard about it from one of my favorite shows ELLEN. I as so glad that Ellen took the time to inform her viewers what had happened, if she hadn't I wouldn't have heard it at all. I feel really sad for not only Larry and his family and friends, but I am also sad for the boy who decided that it was better to kill Larry than to have him embarass him and want him as his valentine. I have young children and I have always taught them that I will love them no matter what they do in their lives and no matter who they decide to love. I think that as parents it is up to us to not only teach our children about right and wrong but also about being accepting of others who have different thoughts, ideas, and feelings than our own. If people weren't different then this world would be a very boring place to live. I am sorry for all of the pain this has caused to not only Larry but everyone that Larry's life has touched.

I feel sorry for the loss of Larry to those who knew him. Even though I do not believe in homosexuality, I do believe all people should be treated with respect no matter their sexual preference, color, relgion or race. I pray and hope that more people will learn to accept everyone for who they are and not hate them what they are.

I am so very sorry to hear about this sad story; what a handsome young man whose life was stopped entirely too short. My thoughts & prayers are with everyone involved. Peace.
