What a beautiful child your Lawrence is. I am saddened by his death and your loss.I am saddened for all of us who never got a chance to know him. I am saddened that he never got to do all the good things he could have done.I hope some good comes from this tragedy. Blessings to his family and friends. May time help you heal.

When I was 16, after two years of hesitating, I told a guy at school that I loved him. He strongly rejected my love and I never spoke to him again. It took me quite a few years before I dared speak up again. I am now 41, and I still find it difficult to express love. In my eyes, Larry was a hero for speaking out and for living the way he was. I wish his family and friends the strength and love that they need to overcome this tragedy. May they feel some piece and comfort that Larry now is a symbol to many that we are all equal, and that nobody deserves to live inside of a closet. The world has changed a little bit since I was 16. But Larry's death shows that it has not changed nearly enough. Out of all places, California and the Netherlands are known to be amongst the most gay tolerant places in the world. Which makes this all the more sadder. My deepest sympathies for your loss.

I am very saddened to hear of the tragic death of this very brave and admirable young man. As a bisexual musician, it is further troubling for me to see how far we have yet to go for understanding, compassion, acceptance, and above all, love. My heart goes out to all those who suffer through this tragic time. At least, Larry is at peace. He is now with the angels.

Dear Sweet Child, You were beautiful and shone brighter than those around you. In a bland and dull world, jewels catch fire and light. They shine like aurora stars. Your gentle spirit will never die. The world is poorer for your loss. Those who don't understand your soul are filled with their own confusion and self-hatred. For all their intolerance there are those who shine in the rainbow.
