I just found out about this tragic story. My thoughts and heartfelt prayers are with you. NO ONE should ever have to be the subject of a hate crime - it is a senseless act that just leaves you wondering where the world is headed.

just heard on ELLEN about this horrible tragedy and my heart goes out to everyone affected. From what I can tell, Larry was a nice kid who did not deserve death and was only being human. We need to stop the hatred and ignorance and love each other as equals. Deepest sympathies to all of you

I am saddened by what has happened to Larry. I am the current president of the GSA at my school and every meeting so far i have brought up the tragedy of Lawrence King's death, and what we should do to do something for the family and friends, and even ways to prevent something like this from happening again

To Larry's family: I am so terribly sorry for your tragic, awful loss. What astounds me is that so much of the commentary I've seen around the web calls for "tolerance". It was pointed out to me a couple of years ago that "tolerance" is nowhere near enough, because to tolerate something means that you are willing to overlook something you feel is wrong. And Larry's choice was NOT wrong. The necessary word, and frame of mind, is "acceptance". And until we get to that, I fear more tragedies such as this will occur. Love and condolences and a better future to all of Larry's family and friends.
