My heart felt grief and deep sorrow when I heard of your passing today and the trouble you were having; the pain, the loneliness inside... No one should ever decide when soemone's life should be taken "because of who they are". When Jesus walked the earth he came in peace, not killing. He spoke words of truth, but ultimately he serached the heart. We all have sins of the flesh, mind, and heart and we must look past our frailties and have a spirit of love - not condemnation. Although your killer is obviously a troubled youth, it's sad that 2 lives are now taken becuase of bigotry and ignorance... My Son is also gay; he was 16 when he told me, although heartbreaking initially, my love and support for him never faltered, and now he's 23 and I love him more every day, for the beautifully spirited man and best friend he's become. Regrettably, one that you won't have the opportunity to be to someone, for no doubt you had a beautiful spirit inside too, just waiting to found and loved...

Larry was simply trying to be himself. It saddens me that there are others who cannot tolerate "differences" among people. Larry's loss is all of humanity's loss, for we'll never be able to fully appreciate this multi-faceted, talented human being. Larry's love of butterflies brings to mind a quote I once saw on a bench in a Santa Barbara bontanical garden. It goes something like this: "Happiness is like a butterfly. While you chase it, it eludes you. When you aren't looking, it gently lights on your shoulder." Larry's butterfly has gently lit on his shoulder, sending him to a much better place than here on Earth. Bless the soul of a very precious human being.

I have only just heard about Larry and the horrible way he lost his life and his loved ones lost him. My heart goes out to every one who knew and respected him for who he was. To those without respect, let us hope that your hearts and minds will open. Our only true freedom is the ability to love everyone. Violence embodies the antithesis of love. If only all the love expressed on this website and at the vigils being held in Larry's name was enough to reverse the violence and bring Larry back to his family.
