What a beautiful, sparkling, precious life taken away so senselessly. My heart aches and my thoughts are with this community as it heals and learns from this tragedy.

To Larry's Family, He seemed to be a free spirit, we all can learn alot about being free. I think Larry was a very special person and could have taught us all alot about life. It doesn't matter who we love just as long as we get a chance to love. Larry, there were and still are many people who believe. You will be in our hearts today and always. Rest in peace.

How brave Larry, how unbelievable brave! Your life, cut short in tragedy, has touched people everywhere. I will be attending a vigil in DC tomorrow night and will say a prayer for you, your family, and friends. I happen to be a graduate of E. O. Green (1972) and live today as an out and proud transexual woman ... I promise you your life will not be forgotten nor will it be in vain ... and I am strengthened by the outpouring of love from your friends ... I hope you all never lose that wonderful ability to love ... Sara ...

The grief that Larry's family, friends, schoolmates, and community must be feeling is immeasurable. Hate of any kind and discrimination because of differences is so wrong. Right now there are religious groups and others in California gathering signatures to put propositions on the ballot in 2008 to remove rights for gay and lesbian youth and adults. What better way to remember this boy and honor his courage, then to stand up against these hateful groups in the months ahead!

This story breaks my heart, what a beautiful child Larry was. He did not die in vain. I never met him, but I will never forget him. The parents of the boy that shot him should be jailed for teaching this boy to HATE, now his life is ruined also, he will spend his life in prison and be forgotten.

There is nothing worse than being ordinary-American Beauty Clearly you were not ordinary Larry and that is such a wonderful thing. Your vibrant personality was refreshing in this extremely messed up world. I'm sure you are with God and the angels now watching over us. I hope you will be proud to see the impact your life has made on America and hate crimes. R.I.P.

I am terribly saddened to hear of this horrific and senseless act of hatred and violence. My hear aches for the family, friends, school and greater community. I pray for you all and your ability to forgive. There is no greater revenge which we can seek as people--than the revenge the culprit will face in his own final hour before God. Let Mr. King's loss be a reminder that we must learn to love each person for the wonderful gift they are. I suggest you contact the National Conference for Community and Justice NCCJ to learn more about their excellent programs designed for youth to learn more about issues of racism, sexism, heterosexism and classism. They have a wonderful program called ANYTOWN. Here in St. Louis, it is one of the nation's best but I am sure there is an excellent one in your part of the world too. Again, my thoughts and prayers are with you all-especially Mr. King's family, friends and classmates. Just horrible. I am saddened by and sorry for loss.
