Not only as a parent, but as a parent who has made some mistakes and had children who lived in the foster care system for 2 yrs., my heart hurts for you and Larry. Your child was beautiful,as all children are. He was special, and had a purpose, only he served his and God called him home.Sometimes He misses His angels too much. But do not blame yourself for what happened. Do not think,"If only i'd have been there, maybe i'd have seen some warning sin. Maybe i could've done something knowing he was being bullied." Alot of people don't understand that as a parent you can't help but blame yourself when anything happens to your baby, even when you have absolutely no control.I'm so sorry for your loss. Larry was beautiful, and he stood for something. The courage to be who you are, which will help so many others.

What a beautiful boy! His life must have brought real joy to many people, during the few years that he spent in this world. His death leaves a void. It is tragic to two young men's lives, those of both this victim and his victmizer, have been ruined by hate and senseless violence. Americans need to realize that it is just sex, be it hetero-, homo-, bi-, or trans-sexual, Sex of any kind should reflect an expression of love for its partners, and not be an excuse for hatred from others. Our public schools reflect our society, and still tolerate sexual harassment of gays. If people do and say nothing against it, evil will always triumph. I am not afraid to declare that I love Larry. Who could not love such a child? I never had the chance to meet him in this life, but I will gladly in the next. But right now my heart is heavy in grief. I can only hope that his example might prevent the next such hate crime. Larry's life represented such hope ---and so much unfulfilled potential in his life.

I am so sad for this beautiful child! When I lived in Ventura County, there were so few venues for young people in the gay community to feel safe and honored. Now in the middle of my 40s, with a loving partner and a recently adopted daughter I can only pray that every day we do our best to be true to our unique selves and change the world just a little bit through our love for eachother- at the supermarket, in grade school, at church, on family vacations...
My heart goes out to Lawrence's family and friends.

My sincere condolences to this young man's loved ones. As a parent, I couldn't even fatham losing one of my children, violence being the unthinkable.
I know here, the schools have a "Anti-bullying" set into force. I must say, they thorouthly enforce it! I would like to see more schools adopt a form of protection for our kids, against harrassement. I ponder to think that if this school had something set into force, this horrible incident could have been prevented.

I am very sad about what happened. All I keep thinking is that this wasn't fair. He did not deserve this! I will pray everyday for the family and people who loved Larry. God Bless.

I did not know Larry, and had not heard about his death, until I came online early this morning and read about his tragic lost.
For the family, I'd like to give my condolences, and I pray God will guide you all in your time of need and comfort your hearts with loving memories that I'm sure this young man will bring :-)
For Lawrence "Larry" I am sure that you're in a much better place, a much more accepting place, that will keep you in the loving arms of our "Protector" that is God. You seem, from what I've been reading about you, like a very caring young soul, with a "Beautiful" everlasting spirit. God Bless you and may you and your beautiful butterflies flow freely!
Sincerely,

My thoughts and prayers are with your family and Larry. As a lesbian activist and as a mother I am both heartbroken and angry about the on-going senseless violence against our community. Your unconditional love is a testament to true family values.

I cry when I read of incidents like these. Not only for young Larry do I grieve but for his mis-guided, confused killer. No one loved Brandon enough to teach him the wonderful gift that diversity is and the joy of accepting the differences in other people.

One day people will learn not to hurt not to hate, to accept people for who and what they are. May Larry's life be a candle to light the road. I work with kids in a play setting - we take an old battered double decker bus around to neighbourhoods here in South Britain and they come on and play. We've done that for 25 years, I've seen Larry before. I've also seen those who might kill and hurt. Funnily enough, and I guess Larry's parents will understand this knowing the sweet kid they have lost, his was not the damaged life. If you folks should ever come to Britain, please look us up, you will be welcome. Let's Make the A World Fit for All Our Kids to Play In. Bless You.

I am so sorry. As a parent and citizen my heart is broken and so sad for you. Our children need love not hate. It is up to us as adults to lead the way for tolerance and acceptance. My prayers are with you and your family. Let this be the beginning of your righteous anger with productive results. peace be with you.
