This tragedy has touched me deeply. Hate Crime has to be educated out of civilised society.

My deepest sympathy goes to Larry's family and friends. I grew up in Hueneme and went to school at E.O. Green. It's so tragic to see violence like this hit at such a young age, or any age at all. I hope Larry's death will not be in vain and that he will live forever as a reminder that violence is so unnecessary and there is always a better way to express anger and resolve differences. All my condolences to you in this difficult time and I hope you find the peace and strength to move on and show others what such a senseless act will lead to. God bless.

Dear Folks, I'm a mom from Holland. Next year I will come to the States for good. My daughter and me will go live with my husband, Dan Tullis Jr. who lives in Port Hueneme. He told me about Larry. My biggest fear, before I heard this story, is that my daughter will be shot on day at school. That's how much we European hear about shootings in the USA. The story about Larry is so so sad. There is so much I want to say, but it feels so inadequate to express hopes or desires. Family, friends, especially parents, brothers and or sisters, we feel your loss all around the world. I hope the messages will help you in your struggle to go on. Because you have to go on for him! Keep him with you in your thoughts and he will never be forgotten.

I cannot express in words how sad and angry I feel about the murder of this gay young man. When are people going to stop harassment, verbal abuse and violence when they witness it? Why did it take Larry's murder by one of his "tormentors" to have teachers, parents, legislators and students themselves confront what he was subjected to on a daily basis? I am so sorry this beautiful boy was not protected, not given a safe learning environment and that those in authority did not intervene to stop the harassment and violence against him. Larry was so brave to walk through the world being himself. I pray that the work I do will make a difference. This Saturday at our LGBTQ youth group we will light a candle for Larry and remember that sexual orientation and gender identity diversity should be embraced not annihilated Larry did not have to die. Shame on those who did nothing to help him.
