I have known larry scince 1st grade. we were so close. we lost touch after 5th grade, but i never forgot him. i never thoght this would happen. Larry was shot for being different. For being him.Thats wrong.i miss him very much, but he will always be in my heart. He was an amazing singer. Iv never seen so much talent for such a young boy. He will never be forgotton. He will be with me always and forever.Larry's heart and soul will forever be in mine, and thats one thing that will never change.

I'm sorry that we did not protect you. You deserved better from us, as do all the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender youth out there. This holocaust has not ended. We must never forget.

I never got to meet Larry personally though i have heard memories of him growing up with his brother Eddie(a bestfriend of mine)...and from those memories I could imagine Larry to be a great boy that should have been allowed to grow into a man. I grieve along side my bestfriend as well as the family.

Though I did not know Larry personally he was good friend and classmate to my daughter..She often spoke of the great conversations they had and how he could run really fast in heels...She shared the homeroom english class with Larry and was one of the first to get the news of the incident via text...she was home ill that day....our lives forever changed in so many ways... to Larry's family my deepest condolences for your loss and praises for raising such a remarkable young man.....He will most certainly NEVER be forgotten.....

May God Bless and keep you; now;in your time of sorrow & always. We expect our children to outlive us and we never anticipate the types of darkness in this world that can encounter our lives and those of our loved ones. May the many Memorials be a testimony to Larry's life & your teachings and get the world to stand up and take notice of all of this senseless hatred and act in a more positive manner. PEACE, LOVE & LIGHT !!!!!

When your pictures came on this screen, seeing them took my breath, recalling the joy of being his teacher at Hathaway. Seeing myself holding your son in our class at that lovely holiday time it hit me like the force of an inner explosion.
I cannot tell you the pain felt for your loss nor express the pain for us to lose this child cared for so much.
All the last few days when coherent I thought of just the little things, like the day you took this picture. I spent
a happy, doing, active, investigating, love filled year when we were able to do so much learning. I can give you that reassurance. He was happy then. It means so much to hold him in my heart. Everyday I try to find my reasons, teaching calls us to honor the children, consider what we do, make them the center of our concerns. Larry was a reason to be here. He was a child that makes teaching resound as the gift that it is. I thought the world of your child. Please accept our condolences,

I was shocked to read this story. What was more shocking was that I did not find out through the media, but through a friend. These situations need to be more escalated in our national media, so that we can start a discussion with young people on stopping hate. My sincere condolences to the family and friends.
