I was shocked to read this story. What was more shocking was that I did not find out through the media, but through a friend. These situations need to be more escalated in our national media, so that we can start a discussion with young people on stopping hate. My sincere condolences to the family and friends.

You will be forever remembered in our hearts; your greatness, your evils, your downfalls, your importance. You will be remembered throughout your strength and the positives you bring forth through your happiness. You will forever be remembered through your worst of times for the ever-grateful thanks you send to your friends and family amongst many acquaintances. You will be remembered throughout your downfalls as a way for others to look upon you. And most of all, your importance will be forever remembered as a way of living through another life as your own." - Ali - While I didn't know you, hate crimes are amongst the worst of all for anyone to ever experience. February 12th will be a day of remembrance for all members of the GBLT family to stay strong and continue to hold their heads high.

As I looked at Larry's pictures I thought to myself there are no pictures of him as a young man...then it occured to me...he was a boy. Have we taught our children nothing? My prayers and with Larry and family may, they find peace.

Dear Family, My heart is breaking over the senseless & tragic loss of your dear Lawrence. My love & prayers are with you all. He looked like such an amazing boy-eyes full of laughter & life & love. In time, I hope the WONDERFUL memories of Lawrence, that you treasure in your hearts will help heal the sadness and anger that you must be going through now. There is now a BEAUTIFUL ANGEL with GOD. May this special and beautiful angel watch over you. And I pray to God that this kind of senseless hatred and killing will be stopped. Peace be with you. Wendy XXXOO

I know too many gay men who denied their truth out of fear of rejection for way too many years, denying themselves the dignity and respect they always deserved. By this wonderful tribute website and the love and caring of people world wide, this brave young man's loss will not be in vain. May you live free, young Larry.

I was sent a link about Larry's death by a friend. It made me so angry and so sad that this sort of prejudice is STILL very much alive in our world today. I sent the link onto as many people as I could. One thing in particular struck me about Larry as I was reading about him. For someone who was so young, he already seemed to know who he was and was living HIS life with courage and dignity. I commend him for his strength of self. Larry lived up to his name - he was a KING among men. I hope his family can survive this loss & know Larry's spirit will always be with them. RIP Larry.
