I feel terrible, just learning about what happened to dear Larry. It's disgusting that the freedom we as Americans are suppose to have are limited to some because they are simply different from others. My heart goes out to Larry and his family. You're all in my prayers.

I went to E.O. Green many years ago. My friends and I had some friends that were "coming out". We did not care. We respected them as our friends, as our equals. This is what our parents taught us. Now I have 2 kids, one around Larry's age. He has been raised to respect everyone as an individual, no matter what gender, race, religion, or orientation. As parents it is our responsibility to teach tolerance and understanding of everyone. God always seems to take the best angels a little too early. Larry you will help us make this a better world.

To the King family & their friends,
Through my organization, we work with children and youth like your child every day. We work with the families as well...and we grieve for your loss and for the tragic and premature end to Lawrence's life. We do educational outreach to schools specificaly on behalf of gender non-conforming children and youth. The name of our program is "Hallway Heroes". In honor of Larry's life...we would like to rename our program "Larry's Heroes".
We are here for you, family and friends in any way we possible can be. I would like very much for permission to contact you directly at a time that you feel would be appropriate.
Your child was not alone in his identity...and he will never be forgotten. Peace, hugs and love to you all.

Dear King Family: My heart is heavy and I am so very sorry for your loss. I am trying so hard to understand all of this. Kids killing kids and intolerance. It's time we all come together and say "No More." We are losing our children and it needs to stop.
I can just tell by Larry's pictures that he was a wonderful young man. - We must teach our young people tolerance. It starts at home of course. No one should have hatred in their hearts. This tragedy needs to wake up our society.
Larry, I feel like I know you now after visiting this page as well as your photo gallery. I have a strong feeling your death is going to bring about change finally. I sure hope so, and I will do my part to make sure that happens by signing a petition or whatever. No parent should have to lose a child like this. It's time we all get busy, in your name and change the world. God Bless ~
