Although I did not have the pleasure and honor of meeting this young man, I know that our community will always remember Larry for being himself in the face of hatred and intolerance. Larry, may God rest your soul; you are now free.

I went to EO Green as a seventh grader and part of my eigth grade year. I never knew Larry, I guess just bcause of the fact that he was in the grade younger than me. Even though I don't even live in Oxnard anymore, it is deeply saddening to hear about such a tragedy. A little boy being put through such misery because he had enough courage to express himself?! From what I've heard he was an amazing kid, but at least this has brought people all over the world a little bit closer together. RIP Larry King, always loved & never forgotten. I never knew that someone I had never come in contact with could be such an inspiration to other people. <3

I did not know Larry, nor did I live in his community. But I feel this loss as if I did. I can only imagine the pain his family feels and I hope no one in this community has to go through this again. My teenage child and I went to the memorial for Larry on Friday, it was very moving. Words fail me think about the loss to Larry's family, his community, his church, and his school. I hope this moves everyone in the community to actively teach and promote tolerance ... and also to keep guns away from kids, for crying out loud. Peace

To the parents of Larry my condolences. I did not know your son but his death did not go in vain. He was able to reach thousands of people on various levels of emotions and issues. Hopefully you will have support when you least expect it. P.s. Larry took a bullet 4 me, you see I am a gay man. I wish I was there to defend this innocent child. Larry is with God.

If by reading or hearing about Larry's story causes people to act a little kinder to each other, then a little bit of Larry still lives on. May we all learn to be more tolerant towards people's differences. Think what a sad boring place the world would be if we were all the same. RIP Lawerence. You will be missed.
