Thank you for setting this up so we can honor Larry's memory. The lovely photos give us a sense of knowing him. While I did not know him personally, having the common thread of being persecuted for my sexuality and being endangered physically for it more times than I can count, I do know something of what he probably went through day to day. I'm a little bit older and never could have felt like I could come out in my small town in high school or junior high. Kudos to Larry who, by his bravery and openness, and even in his death, will (I promise you) make things easier for other kids. Don't let anyone tell you your family was wrong for loving and encouraging him to be true to himself, don't let anyone tell you he asked for this. Until this country truly makes a move towards equal civil rights for everyone, we will all be halted by hatred that is supported by this perceived difference. Love is the only thing that matters, in whatever form. Larry, I promise I will remember your name.

To the King Family: I wish you peace and the comfort of each other and your shared memories of Larry in this time of mourning. I'm so sorry for this tragic loss. Larry was so beautiful and there's such sweetness in photographs posted here--thank you for sharing them. I wish I'd known him, I'm sure he was a lovely child. Peace and love to you.

I never knew you Larry, but my heart aches for you. I too went through what you did at a young age and I just know there is a special place for you in heaven. You suffered too much as a young person for being yourself. I hope you're premature passing into the afterlife is not in vain, but instead shows people where unchecked hate gets us. I hope now your spirit is free to fly higher and freer than it ever was allowed to here. By that person taking you from us, we were cheated of someone special. God bless you in your eternal peace.
