I am ashamed at the way human beings treat one another. Being a social worker, I work with people everyday who have a difficult time freely being who they are. It looks like Larry was comfortable with that. He was amazing and hopefully his legacy is admiring and respecting our differences, instead of letting them divide us!!! Live on...................

Today, The first thing I thought about was what happened to Larry. I feel guilty because I am unable to fly to Ventura County for the vigil tonight at 6pm, but Larry will be in my heart always.

one year later and larry is still on my mind. I am holding a vigil this spring in memory of larry and in hopes to call more attention to lgbt teen violence. i think it's very important that we show our support and tolerance, though larry isn't necessarilly around to see it, because we never want anything like this to happen again. i can identify with larry because i am 15 and an "out" teen. we need to step up and protect those that can't necessarilly protect themselves. we need to show the world that the name Lawrence Forbes King is not something to forget. we need to teach out kids, peers, relatives and even superiors to become tolerant and respectful of all genders, sexualities and forms of self expression. i sincerely hope the king family supports their son even after his death now more than ever its important to stand behind who he was. Let his name echo in every mind, every different colored body, every loving heart and every single shred of willingness to change.

It's so sad you had your young life taken away. Speaking as a gay man it hurts my heart to know because you were like me that your life ended. My prayers to you and your family! Never will you be forgotten!

Tears to continue to flow each time I think of Larry and all those that were changed forever by this tragedy. My heart goes out to Larry's family and all the youths in America who walk in torment. Reach out. Stop this hate now. Thank you and God bless!

You are in my thoughts and prayers. It is tragic that a young life has been cut short with senseless violence.
I pray that your family will heal from this pain.
