I remember a woman who was afraid to tell her father she was gay. When he was finally told, he was genuinely bewildered. "Why would that matter to me?" he said. "She's my daughter. When the day comes we ALL remember that someone--anyone--who is gay is also a daughter, a son, a sister, a brother, an uncle, an aunt, a friend, a PERSON, the universe will rejoice and sing in its new-found beauty.

Larry, even though I didn't know you here I am crying my butt off. It's a shame that you were killed just for being who you truely were. You were a brave person. My prayers go out to you and your family, and I hope that Brandon M. gets what he deserves.

I'm so sorry about what happened to Larry. He was one of the bravest people I have ever heard of. More people should be like him; unafraid to stand up for their beliefs, and unwilling to ever back down. He could have saved the world and that was unfairly cut short. I will always remember Larry and I hold a special place in my heart for him. I never knew him, but that doesn't matter. He's an inspiration to us all; gay, straight, bisexual, black, white, religious, atheist - EVERYONE can learn from this. Equality is so, so important, and Larry's death makes this clear. RIP, Larry, you didn't deserve to die in this way,

I am so sorry about what happened to Larry. Why should other people care about what you look or dress like? Or even how you act? It's cold-blooded murder. The murderer shouldn't just be sent to a 50 year prison sentence, but executed. And the teachers should actually have a brain. How could they NOT notice a 14 year old carrying a bun, even if he was hiding it. Usually people who are going to do something like that should have a suspicious look on their face. But again, I am still very sorry about what happened to Lawrence "Larry"

Dear Larry, your story and life like so many before yours sends us, citizens, a message for change and equality. How many more teenagers have to die before we take a stand and promote tolerance and acceptance. I am networking to promote tolerance and diversity education in the classroom. I am beginning a non-profit organization called STITCH (Standing Together In Tolerance Changing Humanity) that will dedicate funds and people to work on tolerance training within the classroom. Stopping ridicules, bigotry and denigration in the tracks of life. There is a problem and it needs attention and solutions. We will not let you down...we will help the hearts and lives of many.
