Dearest Larry, Your orientation and gender identity will NEVER excuse the violence that was commited against you. You were very brave for being out and open in middle school. It was something I never could have done if I were in your shoes! The perpetrator of your murder had no right to harm you in any way, even if you openly flirted with him. Your death was senseless. I only wish others would have stood up for you, talked to you about your identity and your actions, and were more proactive in talking to the kids that did not understand you. I am also disappointed that the gun that killed you was not responsibly stored. If there is an afterlife I am certain you are in peace and you are able to now be who you want to be; without judgment or hate. I wish I could hug you. I promise if I ever meet a kid like you, I will treat them with kindness. That is what you deserved.
